Monday morning again I was up early. I had three appointments to get through before taking the train to meet with Theresa in Edinburgh where we would continue or hostel visits.
I met with Ayad Al-Azzawi at Atlantic Hotel who showed me around the building. Very clean and tidy with all the facilities you may need this hotel is perfect for the travelling family.
Great location and friendly staff make is an ideal choice
I met briefly with Majid Muzaffarr who took me around Charing Cross Guest House to see a variety of rooms. All clean and tidy with plenty of sunshine. A very peaceful guest house situated in a great location and again I would highly recommend to those traveling with children. They can also boast excellent and friendly staff.
I was meant to meet with Kathleen at The Victorian House Hotel but she wasn’t available so I was show around by one of the cleaning staff. This is a lovely little place. With excellent bright and sunny rooms as well as great communal areas it’s a great choice of accommodation.
The staff were friendly and helpful and full of smiles, again a great location and another property that I would highly recommend to any traveler.
As with all of Glasgow each and every property allows the traveler to have easy access to transport. Although some properties are situated closer to stations etc, the city is small enough to walk it.
Now it was time for me to make my way to the station to catch the train to Edinburgh. A 45 minute train ride later I was in Edinburgh meeting Theresa at our first appointment.

Having arrived in Glasgow on the previous Thursday afternoon to attend a work event I got to spend some time getting to know the area a bit better. The weather was fantastic even though rain had been promised for the coming weekend and I awoke to a beautiful sunny Friday morning.
With an early start as I had a number of properties to visit I had time for quick breakfast at the Euro hostel where I was based and then began to make my way across the city to begin my first appointment.
My appointment at Glasgow Youth Hostel was due to be with Bill Horvath however he was unavailable so instead I met with the lovely Alison Turnbull. She showed me round which hostel which is really nicely set out and very clean and tidy. With all the facilities that you could possibly want and with lovely bright sunny rooms it’s a good place to stay.
The staff was very friendly and out going and so eager to please, I would highly recommend this hostel. It’s a little tricky to find because of the array of crescent shaped rounds in the area but once you do you couldn’t ask for a better spot.
My appointment at Beerbridge Lodge was with Paul McAllistair was due to start at ten but I was a little early. He took me for a look round at a variety of rooms. All of which are incredibly clean and tidy. This is an ideal option for anyone looking to enjoy some peace and quiet while visiting Glasgow.

North Lodge is a nice, neat and tidy accommodation, I met with John who took me around the building to view the rooms on offer. A great choice for the long term backpacker as its very basic accommodation but exactly what you would need when backpacking.
Staff are friendly, fun and helpful.
What a lovely hostel is Bluesky Hostel and it must be said that this overwhelming character is has stems from its owners. I met with Doug Pederson. Who was just delightful, very friendly and gave us lots of positive feedback. I hung around for a while as he checked the guests in for the day and sipped on a cup of tea.
This hostel is again very basic but has a fantastic atmosphere that can’t be beaten. Its location is also very good. I would highly recommend to any backpacker.
I met with Angie at Mclays Guest House who took me on a quick tour of the building which had very neat and tidy rooms and the guess house can boast the friendliest staff as well! Situated in a fantastic area to access the city centre it comes highly recommended.
The atmosphere around the building is very warm and welcoming and very peaceful and quiet.
Since I was staying at Euro Hostel while in Glasgow I got a really good feel for what it was about. A real party hostel but also one where you can find peace and quiet should you need it. With all rooms situated on the higher floors you are assured a good night sleep away from all the music at the bar. Rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy and the staff are really very friendly and welcoming.
If you are looking for a great fun, a brilliant location and lovely rooms this is the ideal accommodation for you.
With the last appointment out of the way I met with some friends to experience the night life the city had to offer. After a number of beers and various shots it was time to dance. We sampled a number of local clubs and bars. All of which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I had the weekend all to myself during which I managed to squeeze in a spot of fly-fishing in the more northern parts of the country. Fantastic!
